Pontificus Chardonnay Viognier

Grape Variety: Chardonnay, Viognier

Climate: Mediterranean, with hot, dry summers and mild winters
Terroir: 60% of the must from plots around Limoux and the aromatic Viognier grape with the last 40% from plots around Marseillette’s dammed marshlands near Minervois. The soil around Limoux is mostly clay, sandstone and limestone. The soil around Minervois is mostly stones, limestone or shale
Winemaking: After fermentation, classical maturation follows in small oak barrels and the bâtonnage technique is applied

Color: Light and clear gold
Nose: Pleasantly scented with ripe yellow fruit with subtle oak and mild herbs
Palate: Nice and full, oily and round in taste, with a wonderfully fragrant lingering aftertaste
