Charles & Charles Riesling Yakima Valley Washington

This is a delicious Riesling that comes from a cool climate famed for elegant white wines. This one is a particular delight because it shows all the typical aromatic characteristics of Riesling but with richer and slightly riper body on account of the slightly higher temperatures and increased sunshine that this part of the world gets compared to most European Riesling sites.

Grown in the high altitude Yakima valley, which is the home of Washington's wine industry, these grapes are taken from the Art den Hoed single vineyard, which has wonderful old Riesling vines growing in poor, old soils. The result is this wine that is full of exotic fruit, freshness, purity, fine acidity that balance the touch of residual sugar in the wine, which is a nod to the German tradition that these particular vineyard conditions help emulate.
